GM has revamped the Chevrolet Performance LSX Bowtie cylinder block for enhanced speed and performance. GM owners can use the LSX 376 Bowtie Block to build up their engine’s speed for power that surpasses 1,000 horsepower or 15 pounds of added performance. GM has also released a less expensive version for those with their eyes on the bottom line. The LSX376-B8 can handle lower horsepower outputs and can provide up to eight pounds of boost.
The LSX block has been ramped for racing but it can support components for the LS, allowing owners to further customize their engine.
The GM Bowtie Block features:
- Made of 400mPa tensile-strength iron
- Forged steel crankshaft
- Rectangular, high flow LSX-LS3 heads
- Thickened cylinder walls for enhanced bore capacity
- Forged H-Beam rods
- Forged aluminum pistons
- Fitted with hollow stem intake valves and solid stem exhaust valves
- Supports displacement of more than 454 cubic inches
- Made to take all LS oil pumps and pans
- Built to take wet and dry-sump oil systems
- Main bearing caps that are six-bolt dowel-located
- Maintains production mounting provisions
- Main oiling system that is true priority
- Powder coat finish
- Maximum clamping force ensured with extra thick deck
- Main breathing holes for reduced crank windage
- Comes available in the LSX bare block and the newer LSX376 crate engine
