Simple Ways to Pop Out a Dent

September 14, 2017 by Jim Hensley Leave a Comment

There is no worse feeling on Earth than coming out of the super market only to see that someone has put a dent in your car door. Unfortunately, people are sometimes inconsiderate and don’t leave a note, leaving you to have to deal with the outcome of this inconvenience on your own. Fortunately, there are ways to pop out a dent. We here at GM Outlet Parts care deeply about every single vehicle – which is why we want to help you with that dent! With a bit of work, you can make your car look as good as new again!

Use a Plunger to Pop Out a Dent

The plunger – man’s greatest achievement. Not only is the flange plunger a nifty way to unclog bathroom issues, it can also be used to pop out a dent! Be warned – this method is for small to medium-sized dents – if your dent is a doozy, this method may not work for you.

To get rid of the pesky dent, all you have to do is splash some water on both the plunger and the dent. Then – start plunging! After a few good pumps, you should see the dent pop right out! Easy as pie!

Hair Dryer & Compressed Air

This method uses two household items. All you’ll need are a hair dryer, and a can of compressed air. This method is great, as it allows you to pop out a dent on almost any part of the car!

To get that dent out, simply heat up the dent with the hair dryer. Make sure to be using the hottest setting on the hair dryer – you want the dent to get nice and hot! After the dent is adequately heated up, turn the can of compressed air upside down and start spraying the dent! The sudden hot-to-cold temperature shift should cause the dent to pop out – science is neat!

Use Boiling Water

Lastly, boiling water is a cheap and effective way of ridding that pesky dent. It’s actually a very simple process – even simpler than the plunger method. This method is really only effective for plastic bumpers, but a lot of the times this is where dents are found.

The method is simple: simply pour the water over the dent and pop it out! All you have to do is reach behind the bumper and push where the dent is. You must work fast – the water can cool off relatively quick!

Coming out of a store to see a dent in your precious vehicle is a quick way to a ruined day. Fortunately, there are simple ways to pop a dent out! If you need any other parts to fix up your vehicle, remember that GM Outlet Parts offers genuine GM parts at discount prices!
